The Question That Outlives the Quote

Open hardware or locked ecosystem — decide this first.

Charging hardware lives ten years; software contracts renew annually. Ecosystem brands bundle hardware and network into one polished, committed stack. Open-OCPP brands let you change networks without changing concrete. Neither is wrong — but buyers who discover the difference after commissioning only ever discover it one way. We spec the software model before the hardware order, every time.

How we choose charging software

Straight Answers

Brand questions we answer every week.

Which charger brand is best for a workplace or multifamily site?
For integrated simplicity: ChargePoint. For cost-optimized flexibility: Autel or Wallbox on an open network like AmpUp. The deciding factors are usually software features (access control, reimbursement, load sharing) rather than the hardware itself.
Which brand is best for DC fast charging?
High-utilization economics: Tesla. Utility-grade fleet duty: ABB. Buy America / NEVI compliance: BTC Power or Lincoln Electric. Integrated network experience: ChargePoint. The answer follows the operating model — which is why we carry all of them.
Is cheaper hardware worth it?
Often yes — if it’s OCPP-open and the vendor stands behind service. The install and make-ready cost the same either way, and software determines revenue. But hardware savings only hold if parts and service support exist for the life of the equipment — that is the first thing we verify on any value-priced line.
Can Faith Energy service brands it didn’t install?
Yes — we service nearly any major charger brand, which is also why our brand opinions are grounded: we see field reliability, failure patterns, and parts availability across every major line.
